• An introduction to basic metalsmithing techniques.

Metals: Metalsmithing and Die Forming (ACR 325) 

• In this course, students learn the following processes: Angle raising, anti-clastic forming, spiculum forming, deep drawing, chasing & repose, and die forming with the hydraulic press.  

​

Metals: Advanced Studio Problems (ACR 427)  

• A course providing advanced students with the opportunity to pursue independent conceptual and technical research to expand their creative and artistic practices under the guidance of the metals faculty.  

 

Metals: Senior Project (ACR 428) 

• Advised and guided senior metals students in preparation for their theses and BFA exhibitions.  

 

Foundations: 3-D Studio (ADS 102)  

• An introduction to the elements and principles of 3D design.  

 

Fall 2022

Metals: Introduction to Enameling (ACR 224) 

• This course introduces students to enameling techniques such as torch and kiln firing, champleve, cloisonne, plique au jour, basse taille, ceramic decals, and enamel painting techniques.

 

Metals: New Technologies (ACR 426) 

• In this course, students learn processes such as Electroforming, Basic 3D modeling, 3D printing, laser cutting, and waterjet cutting as they can be applied to jewelry and metalsmithing.

Metals: Advanced Studio Problems (ACR 427) 

• Guided advanced students to pursue independent conceptual and technical research to expand their creative and artistic practice.

Metals: Casting (ACR 323)  

• This course introduces a variety of small-scale metal casting techniques, including found object casting, lost wax casting, wax working, mold making, vacuum casting, and centrifugal casting.
